Make A List Of Your Anxiety Problems
from: Oze ParrotAnxiety disorder is affecting more than a quarter of the American population, and causes vary from seemingly minor, to extremely serious issues. Whatever a person's concern may be, the degree of discomfort becomes unbearable, and days turn into nightmares that are filled with personal physical discomfort.
The most common concerns are small day to day issues that occur frequently in most peoples lives. Concerns like, getting to school or work on time, fear of missing the bus or train or fear of not being able to complete the day's scheduled events. Other, more serious matters that will trigger bouts of anxiety are, fear of failure, lack of money, poor physical performance or health problems.
Unfortunately, the majority of people who suffer from bouts of anxiety don't really know what is causing the problem. A source of relief can be found in simply discussing the problem with a friend or relative. This course of action will bring one's underlying concerns to the surface, and by openly discussing them with a confidant will help one to deal with them.
After each discussion session, you should list any concerns or issues that were raised. Give these problems deep thought to try and discover what you are worried about and why they are disrupting your life. Also consider any physical symptoms that are evidently the result of your mental state.
Many physical symptoms of anxiety can be present and include, headaches, palpitations, cold extremities, muscle tension, stomach disorders and loss of sexual appetite. Any one, or a combination of physical symptoms can be directly linked to a person's cause of anxiety.
Include in your list the people that you come into contact with at home, school or work and try to discover if there is any connection between an associate and your anxiety bouts. If this is the case then discuss the situation with a confidant to determine the best cause of action to take in order to resolve the matter. Maybe, you can readily distance yourself from the person in question, if not then discuss the problem with a superior who could raise the matter with your associate to ease any friction that exists.
Read through your list regularly to determine wether or not you have solved at least one issue. Make notes of your progress and keep your list up to date. Whenever you have been successful in overcoming a situation, reward yourself with a treat. That will give you an incentive to persevere, gain control of your mental situation and maintain a healthy outlook on life.
